ecoConnect – connect to cleantech
ecoConnect is the UK’s cleantech business association, connections hub and “voice of the industry”, focussing on business support, investment, policy, jobs and skills. We unify action from leadership in cleantech businesses, corporate users, investment providers and policy makers to increase the pace of green technology adoption.
Our cleantech register includes over 16,000 businesses and executives; over 2500 are active in our online communites.
ecoConnect meets an urgent need for collaboration to increase the faster adoption of low carbon technology. Our vision is to, by connecting and working together, help cleantech’s wider adoption and help reduce climate change faster.
ecoConnect brings together cleantech leadership – cleantech businesses and innovators, corporate users, investment providers, trade organisations, NGO’s andf policy makers – to create conditions for success of this critical sector.
We do this in part by bringing together executives at our hosted forums such as:
Green in the City: a monthly think-tank and networking forum
Women in Cleantech: supporting women executives working in the sector
Leaders in Cleantech: CEO Forum and the “voice of the UK’s cleantech boardroom”
Over 4500 delegates have attended our forums since we launched in 2008 to hear expert speakers debate cleantech industry topics such as wind, solar, smart grid, carbon capture & storage, waste to energy, transport and many others.
We also help the industry by enabling early-stage investment, through:
Greenbackers (pitch-for-investment events)
Cleantech Bootcamp (get-investment-ready training workshops)
and by facilitating support partnerships to help early-stage Entrepreneurs find, prepare for and secure funding faster.
More business support is desperately needed for cleantech in the UK. More centralisation of information is required: for training, for investment, for policy and for jobs.
We’re doing something about it.
The cleantech sector is growing exponentially and is set to become a multi-trillion dollar global business over the next few years. Climate change, higher costs of commodities and conventional energy are all major drivers in the search for alternative technology – goals backed by governments, businesses and investors.
The opportunity is huge: green technologies are here to stay and using or investing in these technologies will help to increase revenues, cut costs, find new markets and create jobs.
By cooperating and collaborating to make green technology available to mainstream commercial businesses we can all help the UK achieve world-leader status in the marketplace for low-carbon innovation.
The success of UK low carbon industry and cleantech innovation can have a huge positive impact, economically and ecologically, upon society. Support of these technologies must be present at all levels. Stronger collaboration between government, businesses, investors and community leaders is critical to optimising the faster adoption of cleantech solutions.
