ecoConnect’s Activities and Related Benefits
| Activities | How this activity benefits the low carbon industries and cleantech community | |
| Developing cross-industry networks across business, government, investors, other non-profit organisations and grassroots communities. | Industry Fragmentation is one of the limiting factors in development and deployment of clean technology. ecoConnect CIC has created, will expand and maintain a formal industry network to overcome fragmentation and strengthen collaboration across the clean technology community. | |
| Providing matching opportunities between technology transfer offices (IP), early stage companies, corporate business development interests, governmental award programs, and private investments. | Entrepreneurs and start-ups face difficult systemic hurdles in developing and commercialising their clean technologies. ecoConnect CIC’s role is to enable clean technology entrepreneurs and companies to overcome these hurdles by matching them with essential financial and business support. | |
| Championing clean technologies and business practices that improve the efficiencies and sustainability of traditional industries. | Deployment of clean technologies by traditional industries can be accelerated if they have access to information and advice on technology development and policy. However, this is a very time and resource consuming process. ecoConnect CIC will provide a one-stop hub for obtaining information and advice. | |
| Enabling, engaging and equiping a diverse network of leaders, organisations, coalitions and communities. | Accelerating the development and deployment of clean technology requires an holistic approach at all levels of political, investment, technology and business decisions. ecoConnect CIC, through its broad network of stakeholders, will provide leadership in driving such a systemic approach. | |
All surplus profits ecoConnect earns from it’s activities and its subsidiary activities will be reinvested to expand work on:
1. Enabling programmes for workforce education and training, in partnerships with governments, local communities, education institutions and trade unions.
2. Projects to reduce or offset carbon emissions in the UK and abroad, in partnerships with other organisations.
3. Programmes to enhance public awareness of clean technology, in partnerships with the government and other organisations.
