DESCRIPTION:
ecoConnect CIC is the UK’s Green Industry Business Network and low carbon industrial & cleantech connections hub for support, investment, skills and dialogue. We help enable the rapid growth of low carbon industry and cleantech in the UK and beyond bringing together leaders from all disciplines to progress the growth of this sector.
ecoConnect hosted 24 monthly forums and workshops in London last year and is planning new events and workshops around the country to support the the UK’s Low Carbon/Cleantech Industrial sector.
As such, an opportunity is available for a Research and Support Intern to join our team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help manage our events platform and help build and increase prospect databases, including generating analyses and summaries at regular intervals.
- Liaise and coordinate with potential event speakers, delegates and other event service providers.
- Research, Identify and develop new event and workshop offerings.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Help in the production of event collateral and maximise distribution potential.
- Planning and co-ordinating media relations and co-ordinating press.
- Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
- Prefer Honors degree level with 2.1 or a first. MBA enrolled or graduate a plus. Events Management, Marketing, PR, Market Research a plus. Environmental, Engineering, Cleantech business considered.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate with diverse business stakeholders.
- Strong experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint or similar MAC environment.
- Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to develop and manage client relationships.
- Ability and creativity in researching using publicly available sources.
EXPERIENCE OR SPECIAL SKILLS DESIRED:
- Ability to prepare written reports based on data analysis, including tables and graphs
- Publishing/Newsletter programs ability a plus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems.
SCHEDULE:
- Maximum Commitment 40 hours a week. Minimum commitment: 180 hours over a minimum of 12 weeks (flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week) Some tasks may appropriate for home working.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation: Monthly stipend is not available, but intern will be compensated for any agreed expenses incurred due to outreach responsibilities and will have opportunities to participate in trainings, conferences and networking events with senior executives and management.
