ecoConnect’s Business Culture
Our culture is to excel in everything we do and in what we offer. To not only meet, but excel the needs of our members, partners, supporters and sponsors; to identify future needs and make them a reality.
Organisations work with us because we have set ourselves these high standards. We consider our work environment to be demanding, but also fun and very rewarding.
We work hard to make sure that our team enjoys working for and with us. Ongoing training, development and increased responsibility is at the core of our culture but we do not believe in micro management – we give our team the freedom to work in ways that allow them to develop their own ideas and to grow as individuals.
Sharing
Our advice and support is available to all who want it, through a variety of mechanisms; whether that be hosting events or speaking at them, supporting organisations such as The Green Alliance and UK Social Investment Forum, providing online platforms or partnering with other NGOs.
Wherever possible we take the opportunity to share and gain knowledge and provide the same opportunities for other businesses.
Environment
At ecoConnect careless waste is unacceptable; we do everything we can to ensure that we are as green as we can be (see our Environmental Policy). We turn our computers and office equipment off when not in use; we recycle all paper and plastics; we give our old computers to charity and we are developing a Carbon Offset program to benefit green technology initiatives.
Charity
As an organisation we provide support for Charities via fundraising or sponsorship. During 2010, our Charity is MAG. MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is a humanitarian organisation clearing the remnants of armed conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide. MAG is co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize, awarded for its work with the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) Running the London Marathon and driving awareness at our events are just some of the ways we raise money and awareness for them.
