ecoConnect Internships & Volunteers

Interning at ecoConnect

“Having come from a business background, but with little experience of the Cleantech or the low carbon sector, I was able to learn a great deal and make exceptional industry contacts during my three months at ecoConnect. In addition to working on ‘Green in the City’, their monthly networking event debating Cleantech issues, I helped progress business development initiatives such as fundraising & sponsorship. There were some outstanding personnel at ecoConnect who made the experience both enjoyable and informative. The skills, market knowledge and contacts I developed during this internship will be invaluable to my career moving forward.” – Mark Francis, 2010

One of ecoConnect’s goals is to facilitate the development of the brightest talent to meet the challenges of the current business climate and help prepare them  for the future.  Moreover, as a registered not-for profit and Social Enterprise, we are growing our capability to support the UK’s low carbon and cleantech industry.

As such, ecoConnect has developed an internship program that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical, applicable experience.

ecoConnect offers a motivating and exciting work environment for internships. Work is organised around clear performance goals and expectations and everyone, regardless of background, tenure or position, is given the opportunity to be a key contributor. We offer an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial and growing organisation that will really make a difference to the green engineering and business community in the UK and beyond.

Interns working with ecoConnect need to be self-starters with an interest in the low carbon/cleantech sector or in Social Enterprise.

We are focusing on adding to our expertise in the following areas:

  • Public Relations and Marketplace Communications
  • Industry Research
  • Grants, Sponsorship and Fundraising
  • Events management
  • Policy

Internship at ecoConnect is a great way to expand your boundaries by undertaking a planned, professionally supervised work experience that relates to your career interests and academic program.  Internships can also be the best way to discover if a profession is right for you.

“I worked for ecoConnect for four months during the launch of the Women in Cleantech project.  It was a great learning experience for me and a step forward in my career; helping me significantly to get into the cleantech industry and the solar industry job I have now.  I made remarkable professional contacts and became part of exceptional networking communities.  The ecoConnect team made this a very enjoyable experience;  I was fortunate to have worked with such talented people.” – Cristina Daroca, 2010
